How SolidCloud handles your data

This is the privacy policy for SchematIaC and the licensing service at license.solidcloud.io, published by SolidCloud, LLC. Last updated 21 August 2026.

You work on infrastructure code you may be contractually forbidden from uploading anywhere. The first half of this page states exactly what the extension transmits. Every claim there is a verified property of the shipped build. The rest covers the website, checkout, and email.

No telemetry, no analytics

The extension makes no network calls in normal operation. There is no usage tracking of any kind.

Your HCL is evaluated locally

The engine that parses your files and computes resolved values is compiled to WebAssembly and runs inside your editor. Nothing is uploaded, ever.

Air-gapped operation

Licence keys are cryptographically signed and verified offline. Once activated, the extension works with no network access at all.

No writes without a save

Every change made on a canvas is staged in the editor until you press Save. Your files on disk are never modified behind your back.

Buying never involves the extension

Payment happens on Stripe's hosted checkout page, reached from this website — the editor plays no part in it. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us. We receive the email on the receipt, plus Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers so renewals and seats work. The table above is unchanged by any of this.

The licensing service holds the email address you gave us, the licence record, and the anonymous installation digest used to bind a trial to an install. If you have bought a licence it also holds Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers, the seat count, and the email address of anyone you assigned a seat to. While a trial is being started it briefly holds the 6-digit confirmation code, and the service keeps recent request IP addresses in memory to rate-limit abuse. That is the whole inventory. We do not sell it, and we do not share it except with the processors below, or when the law requires it.

We keep that record for as long as the trial or subscription is active, and for a short period afterwards so a late renewal or a support request can still be resolved. Email us and we will delete what we can; a signed key already issued cannot be recalled from a machine, because it is verified offline.

These companies see only what they need to run the service we bought from them. They are not a substitute for this policy.

• Microsoft Azure — hosts the licensing service and its tables in westus3, and serves this website.
• Google Fonts — serves the typefaces this website uses, so loading a page here reaches Google. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
• Resend — sends the trial, licence, and seat emails.
• Stripe — takes the card, bills the subscription, and emails the receipt. We never see a card number. Their own policy is at stripe.com/privacy if you want Stripe's description of what they hold; it does not replace this page.

Ask us for a copy of what we hold, a correction, or a deletion. Email support@solidcloud.io. The same address will send this page on company letterhead if your compliance team wants it that way.

Stripe Checkout will still show Stripe's own legal links on their hosted page. That is Stripe speaking for the card they process, not SolidCloud handing our privacy policy to them.
